Simon Carter "on Sight"

Simon Carter e Monique Forestier

From the far Australia to San Vito Climbing Festival

The Australian photographer Simon Carter and his wife Monique Forestier special guests for the 2016 edition.

Extending the horizons of international meetings with two guests this time from the opposite side of the globe, happy to be present at this year's festival and again raising the bar of quality offered by the organizers.

Simon Carter, estimated professional photographer as well as excellent climber, has spent the past decade traveling the world to document the climb and its protagonists, making exceptional quality shots and video. Fascinating the contents of his books Climbing World, an incredible collection of pictures, always looking for the "sense of place", climbing moments that combine action and place.

Monique Forestier, mother of the beautiful Coco and professional climber, the first Australian woman to climb routes graded 8b and 8b+, in 2012 became the first Australian woman to climb a route of 8c repeating Fish Eye by Chris Sharma at Oliana in Spain. In 2015 the 41 year-old has confirmed this level climbing his second 8c, the way Tiger Cat at Elphinstone, over 30 meters of intense climbing on small lists, in the cliffs near his home in the Blue Mountains. It will be nice to see her engaged on the hardest routes of San Vito, certainly followed by the husband’s camera.
